Signing Time! Volume 3: Everyday Signs

Well, it's been a while since I have updated and I have been asked to a few times so here you go.

Sometimes I get bogged down with life and take my eyes off the Lord and start to sink (like Peter) but when I get back into my Bible and put my eyes back on the Lord everything falls into the correct perspective.  I still don't know what's going on maybe, or how things will work out or even what I am supposed to do...but really, none of that matters and none of that is my responsibility...I need to keep my eyes on Him, be in the Word and prayer and then when He shows me something I need to do it....until then, I need to be content that He knows what is going on and how things will work out.  So, I  think what I really want to share tonight is just a song that's been on my heart today.  No matter what is going on in our lives there is JOY in serving JESUS!  And the key is in the chorus, "as I draw upon His power!"

Psalm 100:2 Serve the Lord with gladness, come before His presence with singing.

There is joy in serving Jesus, As I journey on my way, Joy that fills the heart with praises, Every hour and every day.  There is joy, joy, Joy in serving Jesus, Joy that throbs within my heart;  Every moment, every hour, As I draw upon His power, There is joy, joy, Joy that never shall depart.

There is joy in serving Jesus, Joy that triumphs over pain; Fills my soul with heaven's music, Till I join the glad refrain.  There is joy, joy, Joy in serving Jesus, Joy that throbs within my heart; Every moment, every hour, As I draw upon His power, There is joy, joy, Joy that never shall depart.

There is joy in serving Jesus, As I walk alone with God; 'Tis the joy of Christ, my Savior, Who the path of suffering trod.  There is joy, joy, Joy in serving Jesus, Joy that throbs within my heart; Every moment, every hour, As I draw upon His power, There is joy, joy, Joy that never shall depart.

There is joy in serving Jesus, Joy amid the darkest night, For I've learned the wondrous secret, And I'm walking in the Light.  There is joy, joy, Joy in serving Jesus, Joy that throbs within my heart; Every moment, every hour, As I draw upon His power, There is joy, joy, Joy that never shall depart.

I know I was tagged once and don't intend to be ignoring that but I can't find the questions.

My new kitchen appliance...

Well, I finally sent for my k-tec blender and received it day before yesterday.  Those of you who know me well, realize this took some time.  First I saved.  Then I hoarded the cash because I was too cheap to send for the expensive blender.    Then I spent the $$ on other things.    Then I saved for it again, leaving the $$ in savings this time....for months.  Finally, I got serious about getting more greens in my diet...realized I really can drink Green Smoothies...even w/chunks!   But, preferring a less chunky smoothie, I bit the bullet and sent for the best blender on the market.    Our family uses blenders a lot and we have burned out several so I felt we needed to get the higher end this time.  I am soooooo happy with this purchase!    (And thankful to God for providing my piano students and babysitting jobs that allowed me to save for it!)  Anyways, we love it!  We are all drinking Green Smoothies (about 1/2 fruit and 1/2 green leafies) and my Judah-bear absolutely LOVES them!  Jeremiah humors me and drinks them.  Jeff likes getting the nutrition and I actually am so totally amazed that I can stomach 2 cups of spinach, in a beverage of all things!

It makes great hash browns too.  In just a few seconds!  Way cool...(well, I do have to cook the hashbrowns in a skillet...it just preps the potatoes...now, if it cooked them too, that would be something to talk about!)

I am trying to be disciplined in all areas of my life... but especially: Bible Study, eating and exercise.  Someone, I'll leave it to you to decide who, purchased a donut for me tonight.  (Against my previous request not to.)  I am ashamed to admit...I did take a small bite, but then...you will be pleased with me to know...I took control of my "fleshly, donut desire" and dunked the donut in dishwater and threw it in the trash.  "Someone" burst into laughter and said, "That is the most disciplined thing I have ever seen you do!"  So, you can be happy with me, I am making progress.

Thanks for your continued prayers in these areas!

These past few days...

Well, I have been insanely busy these past few days.  Trying to get the place presentable.  Those of you who have been to my house in the past 2 years, did you know that I actually have a desk in my kitchen?!   Well, if you didn't, you would know it now.  In fact, Jeff's laptop is going to be used here from now on so just maybe you might get to see it one day if you stop by.  Also, my kitchen counters are clear of clutter and clean.  My dining/living areas are clean as well.  It's not that I don't want my home tidy (had someone ask me that once, "Don't you want your house to be clean?"), it's that I can't seem to keep it that way with all that comes my way.  I know if I could get through all the clutter and chaos and throw out everything it would help but that takes a whole lot of time.  So, anyways, we had my piano students and their family over today for lessons at 4:00 followed by games.  It was a lot of fun.  Judah decided he loved Paul.  (the dad)  It was so cute, he helped him play phase 10 dice, he talked to him a whole bunch and he sat by him almost the whole time they were here.   I actually got to play the game.  Anyway, it was fun and I think they had fun too, so that's cool.:)  Jackson and Gemma both put the dice in their drink cups instead of the dice cup so we had some joking around like..."...care for some "dice" water?"  Now, who wants to come over next?  We've gotta have someone over to help us keep the place up.

Today, I received a special blessing from God!  I was visited briefly by my friend (kindred spirit kind), Judy!  She came bearing a precious gift!  A book about just what I have been dealing with!  God is sooooo cool!  Judy does not live in the area and God has used her twice now in the last couple weeks...the first time I was walking down the street here in town and she pulled over and stopped to talk.  She asked how I was and I burst into tears.  I am not good at hiding my emotions....anyways, she was encouraging and kind and a hug from God at the moment!  Now today she comes to the door with a book I needed to read!  That is so cool how God works!  She is actually ministering in Canada so it was so unlikely to run into her on my walk that day, but God knows what I need and He is ALWAYS faithful!

I'll tell you what the book is as soon as I learn how to post it all cool like Christina and them do....

Tomorrow I am going to the airport to deliver Aunt Carolyn to her flight and then to Costco with Mom.  That would be fun if I had money.  I guess I'll have to just go for the fellowship.

May you seek God for all you need today and may He fill you to overflowing with His Love!

I wish I had time to figure out how all this web stuff works.  But I guess for now I will just post an update.

Ok...I don't know if you struggle with sin...but I do.  I am sick of it.  Fran talked about how we learn to walk and we take it a step at a time...well, in a way that's nice and encouraging...in another way it stinks.  I am sick of walking and I want to get to the ARRIVED point.

Perhaps I need prayer.  (Do ya think?)

Anyways, I don't want to sound depressing all the time.  So I will share with you my latest beverage of choice.  Green Smoothies.  YUCK!  I mean YUMM!  Haha...  Anyways, I read a book by Victoria Boutenko, and learned that we don't get enough greens in our diets so I blended some up with some of my dads asian pears and drank away.  It was palatable and if I didn't know what was in it, I might even say it was good...but the thought of the blended greens was inescapable.  Judah LOVED it and drank a lot.  (It went right through him, if you know what I mean, and now I have to go buy more diapers).  Jeremiah drank it after I bribed him with mexican food for lunch if he drank it.  (Hey, whatever works, right?).  At any rate, we are getting our 5+ a day.

I need to get going here...still need to make Jeff's lunch...he's on a special rotation diet due to health problems and I am trying to help him.  It's really hard.  Today was his oats, apple, pear, beat, spinach, celery, yam day.  Tomorrow is his sweet potato, kiwi, millet, lettuce, cashew, sunflower, and sesame seed day.  The diet does really help him physically when we can keep him on it.  He did it really well for 3 months and saw a lot of improvement.  Now we are trying to get back on track.  It's gotta be a lifestyle thing...and only by the grace of God will we succeed.

Looking forward to Carla's twins in the morning...hoping it's sunny so we can play outside.

Hope all of you in Hawaii are having fun for all us here at home.
